These are traditional 21 string koras made by the accomplished Kora-maker Lamin Suso from the Gambia.
Lamin is the inheritor of the highly cherished legacy of instrument maker, passed down from his late father Alieu Suso. As the son of this legendary kora-maker Lamin now stands as one of the most accomplished instrument makers
in the Gambia.
These are Koras with the tradtional twisted leather tuning rings. These koras feature a more 'authentic', 'traditional' kora sound
than the metal tunng pegs. They are, however, a litlle more tricky to tune than the pegged koras, but with a little practice it should not pose a problem. |

These are Koras which feature metal tuning pegs. The pegs are tuned with the
use of a key which comes with the kora. These pegged koras are the easier
solution for those who do not wish to learn how to tune with the traditional rings. |

This pack solves the problem of spending lots of money on lots of reels of different thicknesses of string, especially when you only need a few lengths for the thick strings which hardly ever break. A reel for just the thickest string will cost around the same amount it costs for this whole set of 21 strings.
Here you have a full set of 21 strings which includes all the thicknesses you will need for stringing your kora or mending broken strings. It also comes with a useful guide and diagram to show you exactly where to fit each thickness of string on your instrument.
This set contains seven packets, each containing a different string thickness, and each packet is clearly labelled as to where to fit the string.
